Our Staff

Carolyn Bierley, Director
Carolyn has been the director of the Riverside United Methodist Child Care Center (RUMCCC) since January 1985. Prior to becoming Director of the center, she was a public school elementary teacher and preschool teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Ohio University. She lives in Hilliard. She has two married daughters and two grandchildren.

Infant Room

Kathy Dyer, Lead Teacher 
Kathy has worked with infants and toddlers for over 25 years and has been with RUMCCC for 10 years. She has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Ohio University and a master's degree from Wright State University. She and her husband are now empty nesters after raising two granddaughters.

Mary Bennett, Assistant Teacher 
Mary has worked in childcare for 21 years and has been with RUMCCC for 19 years. She is the mother of 5 children and the grandmother of 7.  She lives in Columbus.

Adrienne Tabakow, Assistant Teacher
​Adrienne has been with RUMCCC for 6 1/2 years. She attended Capital University School of Music and taught piano for many years. She is also an accomplished artist. 

Toddler I

Sheri Lisak, Lead Teacher 
Sheri has been at RUMCCC for 13 years. She attended Bowling Green State University. She and her husband live in Upper Arlington. They have one grown son.

Betsy Isaly, Assistant Teacher
Betsy has been at RUMCCC for 8 years. She has a bachelor's degree in education from Hillsdale College. She lives with her husband and 2 sons in Grandview.

Toddler II

Jill Fridenmaker, Lead Teacher
Jill has been with RUMCCC for 19 years. She obtained her Child Development Associate teaching credential in 2013. She and her 3 dogs and 1 cat live in Columbus.

Alexandria Tyler, Assistant Teacher
Alexandria was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She has nearly ten years of experience in early childhood education. She has a passion for children and teaching, and her goal as an educator is to touch each child’s heart and make a difference in their lives. She is a mother of two daughters, ages 10 and 2, and she enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, and attending church.

Penny Helscel, Assistant Teacher
Penny has been at RUMCCC for 11 years. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University. Penny and her husband live in Upper Arlington. They have 3 grown children.

Preschool 

Lisa Chopko, Co-Lead Teacher 
Lisa has been at RUMCCC for 25years in both toddler and preschool classes. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in elementary education. She and her husband and daughter live in Grandview.

Monie Begum, Co-lead Teacher 
Monie has been at RUMCCC for 3 1/2 years. She has almost completed her Child Development Associate teaching credential. Monie has 3 children and lives in Hilliard.

Liz Thines, Assistant Teacher
Liz has been at RUMCCC for 17 1/2 years, and has worked for many years in the childcare field. Liz has an associate degree from Columbus State University. She lives in Columbus.

Pre-Kindergarten
​Kaylin Mosley, Lead Teacher
Kaylin has worked in childcare for 3 years. She is currently attending Columbus State for veterinary technology. Kaylin lives in Pickerington with her dog, and her favorite hobbies are horseback riding and watching the Blue Jackets.

Diana Osorio, Assistant Teacher
Diana Osorio hails from Colombia, where she worked with preschoolers, toddlers, and 6th-9th graders between 2006 and 2013. In 2014 she, her husband, and 4 children moved to Ohio. Between 2015 and 2019, she worked with preschoolers and infants. 

Afternoon Kindergarten Care

Bobbie Vance, Lead Teacher
Bobbie has worked in early childhood education since 2003; she has worked with infants through kindergarten. She has two adult children of her own. In her free time, Bobbie loves to crochet, paint, read, travel, and spend time with family.

Mindy Cook, Assistant Teacher
Mindy is from Upper Arlington, Ohio. She graduated from OSU with a degree in Elementary Education, and she has a wide variety of experiences working with children. She has five grown children and lives with her husband and 2 cats. She enjoys knitting, reading, and various outdoor activities. 

Julia Steen, Assistant Teacher
​Julia has an associate degree from Aspen University and is currently working on her bachelor’s degree, both in early childhood education. She has two years’ experience in childcare. Fun fact: Julia is a former Disney cast member! She enjoys music & movies, as well as meeting new people and learning new skills. 

Rose Bean, Floater
Rose has been at RUMCCC for 10 years. She has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Otterbein College.
